Thanksgiving Day Events In Honolulu

Thanksgiving Day dinners are available in hotels and resorts in Honolulu.


Honolulu is the capital city of Hawaii and located on the island of Oahu. The city offers various events and opportunities to dine during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. While numerous hotels and resorts in the city offer a Thanksgiving Day dinner for tourists and residents, there are also local events and parades that take place.


Turkey Trot


The Honolulu Marathon Clinics organizes the Annual Turkey Trot, a 10-mile run that begins at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand. The race takes place on Thanksgiving Day and awards prizes to racers who closely predicted their own finish time. As of 2010, the entry fee is $3 and racers are not allowed to wear watches, listen to music or use pacing devices.

Waikiki Holiday Party


The Waikiki Holiday Parade is designed to commemorate Pearl Harbor and honors the memory of the veterans and survivors of the attack. The parade is held each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving and features bands from all over the country. Also included in the parade are floats, local officials, military units and dignitaries. Spectators can watch the parade along Kalakaua Avenue, which is located along Wakiki Beach.

Hoku's


Hoku's restaurant is located at The Kahala Hotel and Resort and offers a Thanksgiving Day buffet. Guests dining at restaurant are served an Asian and Pacific Rim cuisine. The Thanksgiving buffet features roasted turkey, prime rib beef, rack of lamb, salad bar, seafood and sushi. A chocolate fountain is served for desert. The restaurant has panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and uses a klawe wood grill, wood burning ovens and hot woks to prepare meals. For men, the dress code at the restaurant is collared shirts and slacks, and women are asked to wear evening attire.
