C.F. Prime
C.F. Prime Chophouse and Wine Bar is about three miles from Muskegon's downtown, in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood. In addition to being an upscale steakhouse, the restaurant has a premium bar. Beers, scotches and wines from around the world are available, along with a friendly and knowledgeable serving staff that helps patrons choose the right wine for their meal. The chophouse features prime cuts of steak, including filets, rib-eyes and New York strips. Nine sauces are available to top steaks, as are accessories such as caramelized onions or a Gorgonzola crust. Seafood is featured on the menu as well. C.F. Prime is open for dinner only, beginning at 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Brann's
Brann's Sizzling Steaks and Sports Grille is situated in a shopping, dining and entertainment district of Muskegon, about a 10-minute drive from downtown. The atmosphere at Brann's is a casual sports bar, with large-screen and hi-def TVs located throughout the restaurant and bar. In addition to a full menu of steaks, Brann's serves up ribs, chicken and burgers. Brann's has food and drink specials each night of the week. Brann's will host parties within the restaurant or will cater events, either at off-site party locations or in its own banquet facility, located about a half hour from Muskegon. Brann's opens seven days a week at 3 p.m.
Texas Roadhouse
Also in Muskegon's shopping district, about a 10-minute drive from downtown, is Texas Roadhouse. This is the town's steak spot for lovers of all things country. The laid-back vibe at this restaurant is evident immediately from the peanuts that patrons receive in buckets, tossing the shells on the floor. Warm, fresh bread, baked on the premises is served to each table. Country music plays throughout the Western-themed dining room. The menu features steak, seafood, chicken and barbecue ribs, as well as combos of any two items. Texas Roadhouse opens daily at 3 p.m., offering early bird dinner specials each day.
Louis Benton
For diners looking for a romantic dinner date in the area, Louis Benton is a fine dining steakhouse located in Grand Rapids, about 45 minutes from Muskegon. The restaurant is situated in downtown Grand Rapids, close to local theaters, museums and the John Ball Zoo. Louis Benton provides an elegant dining atmosphere, with candles and a fireplace setting the mood. The restaurant serves premium cuts of steak along with appetizers, seafood and delicious gourmet desserts. Adjacent to Louis Benton is the Leopard Lounge, a nightclub with a DJ and dancing. Reservations can be made both for the restaurant and for tables in the lounge. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the lounge opening at 9 p.m.
