Waikiki beach is a beautiful nighttime sight.
Waikiki is a famous section of Honolulu. Perched on the southeast side of Oahu near Diamond Head, Waikiki beach is jammed with resort hotels, eateries and entertainment of all sorts. Enjoy fast-paced nightlife in a popular lounge or linger over drinks at a beachfront bar or coffee shop. Attend a luau, sail at sunset on a catamaran, stroll the beach or shop and listen to music. Choose activities that fit your style and wallet.
Waikiki Starlight Luau
Attending a sunset luau is one of Hawaii's tourist activities you will want to do because they are creative, unique and entertaining. From the opening conch shell call to the buffet of island specialties including Huli Huli Chicken, Kalua Pig and Hawaiian purple sweet potatoes, take an active part in the action. Learn to hula. Join others in games. Watch a show featuring native dancers doing traditional dances of Tahiti, Samoa and Hawaii. Waikiki Starlight Luau is convenient to the beach area hotels. Moonlight Stroll Along the Water
Wait until moonrise for a quiet walk along the beach.
During the day, Waikiki beach is crowded, but wait until moonrise around 9 or 10 p.m. after families have vacated the beach and take a stroll down the empty beach. Enjoy the time listening to the sounds of the ocean mingled with noises from the beachfront restaurants and hotels. Breathe in the salty ocean air while carrying your shoes in your hands. Go as far as you can to find quiet solitude for a refreshing and relaxing end of the day.
