The Best Disney Value Resorts

Staying at a Disney value resort offers a world of perks without breaking the family budget.


Disney Value resorts are "big on fun and small on cost," according to the Walt Disney World website. And Disney value resorts offer guests not only the magic Disney is famous for but perks not available to guests of off-site hotels. These perks include free parking at the theme parks, free airport shuttle service and Extra Magic Hours when you can come to the parks before they open to the general public and stay after normal closing hours.


Disney's All-Star Movie Resort


Located in the Animal Kingdom area, Disney's All-Star Movie Resort is decorated with Disney characters such as a 30-foot Pongo and Woody statue and a 47-foot Buzz Lightyear. There are five buildings that are three stories tall and feature decor from movies such as "Toy Story," "101 Dalmations," "Fantasia," "The Love Bug" and "The Mighty Ducks." The resort also has two pools, an arcade, food court and gift shop. You are also offered free shuttle service and free parking at the theme parks. Rooms are basic but colorful and start at $82 for a standard as of October 2010. If you have a building preference, mention it while booking.

Disney's All-Star Music Resort


Disney's All-Star Music Resort in the Animal Kingdom area is dedicated to five music genres: Broadway show tunes, calypso, country, jazz and rock n' roll. The guest rooms are in five three-story buildings and each building has a giant musical instrument decorating the front. The guitar-shaped calypso swimming pool has a fountain with the Three Caballeros: Donald Duck, Jose Carioca and Panchito. There is also a smaller grand piano-shaped pool. The hotel has a food court serving French toast, pizza, quesadillas and other snack food. Guests can enjoy a jog around the one-mile trail that surrounds the All-Star resort complex or watch a movie at night on a giant screen by the pool. Rooms are basic and include either two double beds or one king and rates as of October 2010 start at $82, depending on when you're staying. Shuttle and parking at the theme parks are included in the cost.

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort


The All-Star Sports Resort is in the Animal Kingdom area. The sections are named Home Run Hotel, Hoops Hotel, Touchdown!, Surf's Up and Center Court and all are decorated with enormous icons of each sport. The Surfboard Bay pool has a beach theme and the Grand Slam pool is shaped like a baseball diamond. The End Zone food court has everything from pancakes to burgers. Goofy's Gifts and Sundries has souvenirs and merchandise. Room rates start at $82 for two doubles or one king, as of October 2010.

Disney's Pop Century Resort


Disney's Pop Century Resort in the ESPN Wide World of Sports area has 10 buildings, each four stories high decorated with popular fads, toys, movies and gadgets from the 1950s, '60's, '70s and '80s. Around the resort you'll see a giant Goofy, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, a really Big Wheel, a Duncan Yo-Yo, Mickey phone, giant Rubik's Cube and other blasts from the past. The Pop Shopping and Dining area has selections such as pancakes, flatbread sandwiches and salads. You'll find your Mickey Mouse ear hats and T-shirts around the corner. This resort also features a Goofy kiddie spray area with an interactive fountain. All rooms have cable TV with Disney programming and a mini fridge for an additional fee. Rooms start at $82 as of October 2010. Airport and theme park transportation is provided.
