Twoisland Hawaii Vacations

Each island of Hawaii offers a different experience for visitors.

People from all over the world flock to Hawaii to enjoy the islands' warm, tropical climate and lush vegetation. The four main islands people visit are Oahu, Maui, Hawaii (the Big Island) and Kauai. Each island of Hawaii is different. Kauai is called the "Garden Island" because of its dense rain forest and gorgeous scenery. Oahu is home to Honolulu, Hawaii's capital and largest urban area. Maui is the "Valley Island" and home to numerous world-class beaches and outdoor activities. The Big Island offers active volcanoes and 12 different climate zones. Several two-island vacations are available.

Waikiki Beach plus One More

Aloha Hawaiian Vacations offers an eight-day vacation package to Hawaii that includes a four-night stay on Waikiki Beach on Oahu, plus your choice of three nights on Maui, Kauai or the Big Island. The package includes all accommodations and airfare to Honolulu, plus additional services like airport transportation and flower lei greetings. Breakfast and dinner are also included daily. Waikiki is Hawaii's largest and most popular beach; enjoy swimming, sunning, surfing or just walking the beach and people-watching. After your stay on Waikiki, you are taken back to the Honolulu airport and flown to one of the other three islands for the rest of your trip. (See the Resources section for the package's website.)

Oahu and Maui

Aloha Destination Vacations offers an eight-day package to Oahu and Maui. The vacation package includes daily breakfast, all transportation, deluxe hotel accommodations at the Hyatt Regency resort in Waikiki (Oahu) and on Maui, five dinners throughout the trip, a luau, flower lei greeting and plenty of free time to explore. Activities include a Pearl Harbor tour and downtown Honolulu shopping on Oahu, and a Halaeakala Crater tour, Iao Valley trip and a visit to the town of Lahaina on Maui. (See the Resources section for the package's website.)

Plan Your Own

Vacation packages are convenient, but they are not for everyone. Some people like to plan every detail of their trip, and have the flexibility to plan the trip around any schedule. If that is more your style, plan your own two-island trip to Hawaii. Fly into the Oahu's convenient Honolulu International Airport. Skip the crowds at Waikiki Beach and head to the island's north shore for a stay at the luxurious Turtle Bay Resort. Spend a few days mingling with fellow travelers and the occasional celebrity at Turtle Bay, where you can enjoy snorkeling, poolside drinks, beach walks or horseback rides. Then, pack up and fly to Kauai, which is the most laid-back of the Hawaiian islands. Book a helicopter tour to see the island's beauty from above. Drive through Waimea Canyon and hike the Napali Coast for spectacular views of the cliffs and ocean below. Be sure to visit the charming surfing town of Hanalei in northern Kauai. (See the Resources section for the Turtle Bay Resort website.)
