The Most Expensive Hotels In Hawaii

Hawaii is the second most expensive state for hotels after New York, according to Hawaii for Visitors. Known as a tropical paradise, Hawaii is home to numerous places where you can splash out and stay in the lap of luxury while enjoying palm trees, topical breezes and swimming in the South Pacific.


St. Regis Princeville Resort


Located on the island of Kauai, rooms at the St. Regis Princeville Resort can run up to $800 a night, as of January 2011. The hotel offers a variety of rooms--from views of the garden, the mountains and the ocean--up to luxury suites that come in various tiers. The most expensive, the Royal Suite, is 2,400 square feet of luxury with a private living salon and grand dining room, entertainment room, kitchen with butler entrance and a private spa with a whirlpool.


Four Seasons Resort


The Four Seasons Resort, located on Hawaii's Big Island, is another of the state's most expensive hotels. Rooms here can cost $600 to $1,500 per night. Located on the North Kona coast, the hotel offers 243 guest rooms and 51 suites, many with private lanais. The suites offer beach views and private steam showers, as well as granite soaking tubs. All rooms offer an entertainment center with flat-screen televisions.


The Royal Hawaiian


The Royal Hawaiian is located on Oahu and the cheapest rooms start at $315 per night. The hotel's suites are its most expensive. One of the most popular is the Kamehameha Suite that features a king bed with outdoor lanai and a master bathroom with a soaking tub where you can watch the sunset. The hotel's spa suite boasts a soaking tub, steam shower, second-floor bedroom, a cabana day bed and a lanai.


Halekulani Hotel


Also located on Oahu is the Halekulani Hotel where rates begin around $400 per night. The hotel offers a range of guest rooms to suites like the Executive Luxury Suite that includes limo transfers, butler entrance and complimentary champagne. The Halekulani Suite was designed by Vera Wang and features dedicated butler service, cocktails and a private chef. The suite also boasts two televisions and an air bath containing 16 different jets.
