The Hawaiian backdrop makes for incredible wedding photos.
Hawaii is a top destination for weddings. The white sand and pristine blue water is utterly romantic and if you intend on staying there for your honeymoon, there is less travel. While most of Hawaii is beautiful, there are a few places that rank the best to wed. Remember Hawaii is very popular for ceremonies so working with a travel agent or a destination wedding planner might be in your best interest for getting married out of state.
Chapel By the Sea
Located on Kauai, the Chapel by the Sea is surrounded by the Kauai Lagoons with incredible views of the ocean and mountains. You will walk down the white dock into the hexagonal chapel carved with white air island-like designs. The Chapel by the Sea is located at the Kauai Marriot and reservations are required.
St. Peter's Catholic Church
St. Peter's Catholic Church is located on famous Ali'i Drive in downtown Kona, situated right off the beach in Keauhou. Saint Peter's Catholic Church, also known as "the little blue church," is quaint little chapel surrounded by water and large flowers. The inside is small, built for an intimate ceremony and the etched windows let in romantic sunlight. St. Peter's Catholic Church was built in 1889 on the site of an ancient Hawaiian heiau.
Olowalu Plantation
This historical plantation, located in Maui, was built in 1856 as a sugar plantation. The Olowalu Plantation is better suited for large weddings with several rooms for parties, dressing rooms, a dance floor, large lush lawns and swaying palm trees overlooking the water. Reservations are required.
Makapu'u Beach
The incredible Ko'olau Mountains surround this beach located in Oahu. While the beach itself is secluded, there is plenty of parking and restrooms available. If you intend on having the ceremony here, consider having the reception in Waikiki, located only 40 minutes away.
Na Aina Kai Botanical
If the natural landscape isn't enough, consider having reciting your vows at the Na Aina Kai Botanical located in Kauai. Waterfalls, flowers, ocean views, lagoons and beach access are just a few of the magical points in this destination. The botanical gardens set an incredible and private ceremony and afterward you can explore the gardens and take pictures in this luscious area.
