A Toyland tea party is sure to be a hit.
The tales of Noddy have enchanted children for generations. Written by children's author Enid Blyton, the first Noddy story was published in 1949. Still as popular as ever, this colorful character and his Toyland friends provides a perfect party theme. Noddy invitations, decorations and tableware are available online, and many classic children's party games can be easily adapted to fit a Noddy theme.
Mr Plod's Whistle
Choose one player to be Mr. Plod the policeman, and give him a whistle. Play some loud music and have the other children race around pretending to drive Noddy's car, calling out,"Parp, parp!" When Mr. Plod blows his whistle, the music stops and the children freeze. Anyone found moving is sent to prison by Mr. Plod and is out of the game. The winner is the last one left "driving."
Pin the Bell on Noddy's Hat
Prepare the game by placing a large picture of Noddy on the wall. Give each player a small round bell with her name and a piece of double-sided tape attached. Blindfold one of the players, spin her around, then have her head over to where she thinks the picture is and stick the bell onto Noddy's hat. Let each player take a turn. The bell is sure to end up in some funny places! The winner is the person closest to the correct position.
Musical Bumps with Bumpy Dog
Play some loud dance music and have the children dance around woofing like Bumpy Dog. When the music stops, the children must quickly fall to their knees on the floor and sit up begging like a dog. It is up to the adult playing the music to decide who is the last to do so. That person is out, and the game continues. The last person left dancing is the winner.
Escape the Goblins!
This game is best played outside in the yard or park. Two players are chosen as the naughty goblins, Sly and Gobbo. They stand in the center of the yard, while the rest of the players line up at one end. When the goblins call "Go!" the rest of the players try to rush past them to the other end of the yard without getting caught. If someone is caught they join the goblins in the center as catchers. The last person to be caught is the winner.
