Celebrating your yearly wedding anniversary shows your spouse that you still cherish and appreciate the bond that you two share with one another. Although you do not have to adhere to the traditions, there are certain gifts that are given for each year of marriage traditionally. You can purchase something unique or stick with tradition when selecting a gift for your spouse.
First Year
The traditional thing to give your spouse on your first anniversary is something paper, such as a poem or letter. You could also consider giving homemade gift certificates, a book, decor for the home or artwork. Fifth Year

Silver represents 25 years of marriage in both the traditional and modern sense, although gifts have changed a bit. Traditional gifts include jewelry, flatware, silverware, vases or picture frames. Seventy-Five Years
The 75th wedding anniversary is the diamond anniversary, although many modern individuals keep it the same as the 50th and give gold gifts. Diamond gifts may include a single ring, cufflinks, earrings, a bracelet or a gold watch. You could also take a family photo to represent all the years spent together. Modern items may include gold collector's coins or a gold jewelry box.
