The state of Hawaii is comprised of several volcanic islands, with Kona being a district on the largest.

The resort's grounds feature private tennis courts, manicured gardens for dog walking and leisure activities, dolphin petting area, fitness facility and the Kohala Spa. The Hawaii Big Island Resort by Hilton has a private beach, a shopping village, two full size golf courses and a shuttle for guests to and from Kona's downtown district and Kona's International Airport.
