Owning a nightclub means being a social networking expert who gets people to come out on nights when maybe they would not normally step out of the house. There are many different kinds of promotions you can run that will get people in your club and keep them coming back for maximum turnout.
New Holidays
The first man set foot on the moon July 20, 1969. It was an historic day and worth commemorating. There is not a federal holiday for the first man on the moon, but that does not mean your nightclub cannot celebrate it. Create your own holidays and build promotions around those holidays to raise the excitement. It may be best if you found memorable days that are real to celebrate as opposed to making something up because people will be more excited to celebrate something they have heard of. Make it a monthly event in your nightclub to celebrate something special, and after a while you may find that your holiday crowds become your regulars.
Theme Nights
Many nightclubs offer special promotions during weekly sporting events, while others are known for their events held during concerts. You could follow the crowd on this, or you could come up with your own regular theme night and stand out from the rest. Choose something like a monthly bad-movie night or a celebration of 1980s fashions, and develop pricing specials and giveaways based on that theme. Make a real event out of it each month's theme, perhaps with live music or an appearance by a local celebrity or popular vendor street team. If you can generate enough publicity each month and draw enough of a crowd you may even be able to sell sponsorships each month and draw added revenue.
Flyers
Flyers are used by nightclubs all over the country to the point where it is an expected method of marketing by nightclubs. Put some extra time and effort into your flyers and make them worth something to the people who receive them. Put a drink coupon on your flyers, and make the graphics really stand out from other nightclub flyers. Always make sure the information on the flyers can be read easily. The flyers should also direct people to your website for more information.
Social Networking
Use social networking sites on the Internet to get the word out. If you have a particular theme night that is popular, then create a fan group on the social networking sites and encourage people to join. Give special promotional offers, like drink specials or free T-shirts, to members of your social networking page. The Internet is the fastest way to reach a large group of people, so the more people you can get signed up to your social networking websites the more people you can reach and the faster you can reach them.
