Centerpieces are a dramatic focal point.
Party centerpieces are the life of your party table. No party table is complete without some sort of centerpiece. They do not have to be expensive or take much time. You often can find simple items that match the theme of your party to fill the center of your table and amaze your guests with your creativity. Does this Spark an idea?
Desserts or Food
Do you have a fabulous cake or dessert to serve at your party? Maybe you have trays of decadent desserts. Try stacking a three-level dessert or cake tree with petit fours, decorated cupcakes, small pies or some other mouthwatering desserts. Seasonal fresh fruit stacked in abundance is just as vibrant. If you don't have a cupcake or cake tree, stack small trays in three levels, using empty water glasses as stands between them.
Candles
A simple row of votive candles in small glass cups or a large grouping of pillar candles on a reflective mirror are both easy, creative uses of candles. Even one simple taper candle in an interesting holder can be enough for small intimate tables. Find creative candles in secondhand shops or at import specialty shops to make this type of centerpiece even more interesting and have your guests asking where you found them.
Edible Centerpieces
A large vase filled with sparkling rock candy or nuts is a great holiday centerpiece. Individual glasses filled with goodies between every few place settings are a whimsical way to add to the decor and give your guests a sweet treat. Candy canes, stick candy and brilliantly colored taffy arranged in containers that fit the shape of the items is another great idea.
Nature Centerpieces
For a fall party or dinner, stack small pumpkins, gourds and leaves in a wicker basket. For a winter party or a black and white themed party, fill a tall thin vase with a string of clear lights and stand a couple of bare branches inside. Add white glitter to the branch to make it more decorative and to reflect the lights.
