Gift bags don't have to be boring
Party favors are gifts of appreciation for attending your event. They can be a simple gesture like a balloon, or an elaborate collection of frivolities. Either way, party favors are appreciated and show good taste. If you are trying to decide what to include in your party favor gift bags, there are many ways to make them stand out from the usual candy and bubbles. Does this Spark an idea?
Gardening Kit
Design your party favor bags to include everything a person would need to engage in a fun activity. For example, make garden-themed party bags. Include in the gift a pack of seeds, a baggie full of potting soil, a small pot that you can decorate with the name of the person receiving the favor bag, a small shovel and a tiny spray bottle of water. On the outside of the bag, glue on silk flowers or cover it with twigs and leaves. This fun and inexpensive gardening kit is a great way to inspire a green thumb or emphasize an issue like the importance of nature.
Art/School Supplies
Consider an art-lovers theme. Each bag can contain crayons or markers, paint brushes, paint, clay and even a small sketch pad. You can even print out art ideas for them to attempt, or instructions on use the items. This theme can also be used for school supplies. Fill the bag with pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener, highlighters, a ruler and a small notepad. Utilitarian items that can be enjoyed again and a gain are much more likely to be appreciated than edible treats.
Gift of Relaxation
Finally, give your guests a relaxing break from their day. Place a coffee mug in the bag. Fill the mug with a packet of hot cocoa, marshmallows and chocolate kisses or with a tea-bag and some honey. You can even burn copies of a CD featuring some relaxing mood music. Finish it off with a scented candle or incense. Elegantly scroll an inspiring message on the outside of the bag, like "The Power of Imagination makes us infinite" by John Muir.
