Princess Cruises To Hawaii For 14 Days What To Wear

Packing for a two-week Hawaiian cruise requires careful planning.

Princess Cruises take passengers on voyages all over the world; some as short as three nights and others as long as several weeks. Two weeks on a ship visiting the Hawaiian Islands and taking part in various shore excursions and other activities requires packing accordingly. Fortunately, Hawaii's year-round warm climate makes packing pretty simple.

Formal Nights

On a 14-night Princess Cruise you will experience three formal dinner nights, so you need to pack enough formal wear for all three. For women, Princess recommends formal gowns, cocktail dresses or elegant pantsuits and suits or tuxedos for men. To eliminate over-packing men can wear the same suit more than once with a different shirt and tie, and women can coordinate formal apparel so that all three ensembles match one pair of formal shoes, evening bag and jewelry.

Daytime Wear

Daytime wear on Princess cruises is resort casual. Lightweight pants, sundresses and khaki shorts and polo shirts are appropriate for all on-deck activities and ports of call. Casual dinners call for khaki pants, polo shirts, sundresses, Capri pants and nice tops. Comfortable shoes for walking on deck and around the Hawaiian Islands are a must. Depending on your Hawaiian shore excursions and activities, you'll want to pack appropriate shoes and clothing for both. Include a light sweater or cardigan for cooler evenings, though the days in Hawaii are normally in the high 70s to low 80s.

Beach Wear

Hawaii offers Princess cruise guests such nice weather that you can swim or lie on the beach or pool deck all year. For a two-week cruise you'll want to pack several bathing suits, cover-ups and protective wear. A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a beach bag are necessary. If you enjoy reading, bring material to enjoy while on the beach or pool deck. Pack flip-flops for the beach and pool deck.

Accessories

Princess Cruise Lines provides toiletries in the bathroom of each stateroom, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash and disposable razors. If you are particular to your favorite brands, bring them and forgo the supplied toiletries. You are responsible for your own toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotions, make-up and hair accessories. Feminine products and personal hygiene products such as contact lenses and solution are also your responsibility. Don't forget to pack cell phone chargers, camera batteries and other technology accessories.
