For active or former members of the armed forces, a resort in Hawaii can be just as affordable as staying at the chain hotel in your own town, and there are available military hotels spread across the Hawaiian Islands.

Hale Koa Resort, Waikiki
The Hale Koa Resort is located on Fort DeRussy along the beachfront of Waikiki, where most want to stay in Hawaii. If you're looking for an inland tropical Hawaiian adventure, look no further than Kilauea Military Camp in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located on the big island. From Kilauea you have easy access to hikes through lush forests, lava deserts and the Kilauea volcanoes.
Try some ping pong, live entertainment or rent a movie from the recreation lodge. Accommodations include one-bedroom apartments, one-bedroom cottages and up to three-bedroom cottages with a jetted tub and kitchen.
Beach Cottages on Kauai
If you aren't looking for the touristy beaches of Waikiki or the excitement of Volcanoes National Park, Barking Sands is the perfect setting for a secluded Hawaiian vacation.
