Multiplication Bingo makes learning fun.
Learning is simply easier if it's fun. Multiplication facts that are practiced over and over again become tedious, but when applied to a game like bingo, children keep their interest. Multiplication bingo
Online bingo cards can be downloaded for free or regular bingo cards with numbers can be used as well. Make up bingo flash cards with the multiplication problem written on one side and the answer on the other. Read out the problem and let the children figure out the answer. If the right answer is on their card they can mark it.
Flip up
Flip up is a math game using a standard deck of playing cards. Remove all the jokers and face cards from the deck. Students deal out the entire deck to two players. A designated person says "go." Each player flips over a card and multiplies the two numbers. The first right answer takes the cards and keeps them in a separate win pile. The player with the most win cards after all the cards have played, wins.
Buzz
Buzz takes no props or prep time. Students sit on top of their desks and circle the room counting. A multiplication table is chosen to start and the students substitute the word "Buzz" for each multiple that is used. For example, multiples of 3 would be, 1,2,buzz,4,5,buzz,7,8,buzz and so on. When a student gets the number wrong or forgets to say buzz, he is to sit back down on his chair. Go through the entire room with the 2 tables and then with the students still in the game, go through with the 3 tables and so on until only one student remains the Buzz champion.
Number of the Day
Have students be "The Number of the Day." Write a multiplication problem on a blank sticker, such as 4 X 6. All day long the child will be called by that answer, in this case 24. Any time another child wants to address the "Number of the Day," she must call him by his number.
