Table Decorations For A Bbqthemed Wedding

Dress up your BBQ-themed wedding with seasonal flowers.

Whether you're having your barbecue-themed wedding in your backyard or at a large event facility, plan the table decorations to reflect your theme in a playful way. Raid your grandparents' attic for some of the decorations or visit local thrift stores for vintage BBQ items.

Table Settings

For a traditional barbecue look, use red-and-white checked tablecloths. Wrap plastic flatware in colorful paper napkins or red bandanas, and tie them with raffia or small pieces of rope. Use white plastic plates or paper plates in wicker holders to complete the look.

Buffet Table

Use old metal washtubs filled with ice to chill your drinks -- if your grandparents' attic was bare, buy new ones at your local hardware store. Tie colorful gingham ribbon around the tubs to use them as buffet centerpieces. You could also place small straw bales along the table to add different levels to your serving platters. This results in varying heights that create visual interest for your BBQ food.

Centerpieces

Fill canning jars with flowers, colorful marbles, colored sand or small candles to make centerpieces that match your BBQ theme. Use jars of different sizes grouped together to make larger centerpieces. For your flower choices, consider rustic sunflowers or a flower that is currently blooming in your area, such as cherry blossom branches in the spring or hydrangeas in the summer.

Favors

Decorate your table with barbecue-themed wedding favors at each place setting. Buy bottles of barbecue sauce or hot sauce customized with the names of the happy couple. Provide colorful pinwheels on each plate for the guests to play with and keep after the reception. Tie small jars of jam in burlap bags with the couple's names tied on a paper tag.
