There are many popular non-alcoholic drinks that people rely on every day, and some are a way of life. The most popular provide health benefits and can increase energy, metabolism, and ward off disease. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Tea

Tea is one of the world's most popular non-alcoholic drinks and is made by infusing tea leaves in boiling water. It was first cultivated and brewed in China, and has been an item of trade for more than 5,000 years. There are many varieties and flavors of the popular drink that have many health benefits. Black tea is the most popular form of tea, and is actually more of a reddish color when it is served, due to extensive fermentation of the leaves. Green tea is another popular form and makes up approximately 10 percent of world tea production.

Coffee

Coffee is prepared from coffee beans found in coffee plants, is grown in more than 50 countries, and is a popular choice among people all over the world. It is often a beverage of choice to kick-start the morning; the caffeine tends to make people more alert and gives them energy. It is a way of life for many, and coffee shops are found nationwide to satisfy the coffee addiction of many Americans.

Water

Our bodies are made of it, and require it to live. Water makes up more than half of a person's body weight and every form of life depends on it to live. Two hydrogen atoms joined to a single oxygen atom make up H2O. The United States makes use of an astounding 346,000 million gallons of fresh water each day. Not only is water essential to life, it offers many great health benefits including increased metabolism, increased energy levels, and it flushes out toxins and bacteria from the body that can cause disease.

Juice

Fruit juice provides many health benefits, such as vitamin C found in orange juice. Juice is made from extracting the liquid in fruits and vegetables. Popular choices include orange, apple, tomato, carrot, grapefruit, cherry and cranberry; however, there are many more. Juice can be made fresh at home with the help of a juicer, or countless variations can be purchased at the supermarket.
