One of the benefits of staying on-site at Walt Disney World is that several hotels and resorts on the premises offer Extra Magic Hours. Extra Magic Hours is a program where certain theme parks open early, or stay open late, on certain nights only for resort guests. This gives resort guests the opportunity to ride rides and visit attractions with much smaller crowds. There are resorts in every category that have Extra Magic Hours benefits.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a deluxe resort located near the Animal Kingdom theme park. This resort offers Extra Magic Hours to its guests. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is designed in the theme of an African safari, and guests can watch live exotic African animals from the windows of their hotel room. This resort also has a pool, high-tech game room and playground for children. On-site is the Jiko Restaurant, which specializes in African cuisine and wines.
Port Orleans French Quarter
The Port Orleans French Quarter hotel is a moderate resort that offers Extra Magic Hours. Located in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World, this resort is modeled after the French Quarter in New Orleans. Its guests can use the amenities at not only the French Quarter Hotel, but also the Port Orleans Riverside Hotel. The hotel itself has a pool and food court, and is alongside Sassagoula River where resort guests can boat and fish. The nearest restaurant, Boatwrights, is at Port Orleans French Quarter.
Coronado Springs
Coronado Springs is another moderate resort that offers Extra Magic Hours for its guests. This resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area of Walt Disney World. This resort has a southwestern theme, and offers its guests a variety of activities including a pool designed as Mayan ruins, which includes a dig site and water slide, and also a playground and arcade. Maya Grill is the restaurant on-site at Coronado Springs.
All-Star Movies Resort
The All-Star Movies Resort, one of Disney's value resorts, also offers its guests Extra Magic Hours. This budget hotel is designed with characters from some of Disney's most classic movies, including "Toy Story" and "Fantasia." This massive hotel has two pools, a playground and also an arcade. Its restaurant on-site is the World Premiere Food Court. The All-Star Movies Resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area of Walt Disney World.
