Although you cannot transform your friends and family members into celebrities, you can give them the opportunity to experience this glitzy treatment and throw a red carpet-themed party. VIP Pass Invitations
Set the tone for your event and create a VIP pass invitation. Using a word processing program, create a card that resembles a VIP pass. Feature the letters "V.I.P." boldly across the top and also below your party information. Print your finished products on card stock. Laminate the cards and place them on lanyards, just as standard VIP passes.
Create Your Own
Create your own red carpet. Visit an area carpet store and look for remnants in a bold red hue. Lay this carpet out in a pathway leading to the entrance of your event. To make it truly stand out, run twinkle lights along the edge to illuminate the walkway and draw all eyes to this thematically-requisite element.
Photo Spot
When stars walk the red carpet, they are commonly called upon to stop at the step and repeat and pose for photos. These photo-op places generally feature a backdrop emblazoned with sponsor logos. While you will likely have no sponsors for your event, you can still give guests the chance to pose, so set up your own step-and-repeat area. Off to the side of your red carpet, or just inside your event, create a solid-colored backdrop that your guests can stand before and pose for pictures. As guests enter, take digital pictures. Ask a friend or family member to step away from the event momentarily and print these pictures so you can present them to guests as party favors as they leave.
Swag Bag
At many red carpet events, stars are presented with swag bags, featuring designer duds and other pricey merchandise. Emulate this practice, preparing bags with gifts like lotions, sunglasses or scented candles. Give each guest a bag upon entering so they can use the contents as they enjoy the party.
