The Yokota Air Base, a U.S. Air Force installation near the city of Fussa, Japan, is home to 14,000 military and civilian contract personnel. The base also houses various affiliate military communications facilities, including the broadcast headquarters for the American Forces Network (AFN) radio service. The base's operational command is the 374th Airlift Wing, and part of the Air Force Air Material Command. The wing is responsible for supporting four units; operations, mission, maintenance and medical logistics. These units maintain active forward basing associated with any operation in the Asia-Pacific region.
