Vegetarian And Vegan Restaurants In Honolulu Hawaii

Surfing in Waikiki Beach

Hawaii, the youngest of the American states, has six major islands with distinct personalities and opportunities for sightseeing and adventure: Kauai with its 10-mile long Waimea Canyon; Oahu and its Waikiki surfing; Molokai and its tall sea cliffs, Lanai and its Shipwreck Beach; Maui with the large crater of Haleakala; and Hawaii's Big Island and the active Kileaua volcano. Honolulu, capital of Hawaii, is home to at least twenty vegetarian and vegan restaurants and shops. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Legend Vegetarian Restaurant

Even meat lovers come to eat the tofu dishes and creative vegetables of this strictly vegetarian Chinese restaurant that serves, among others, entrees like vegetarian dim sum for lunch. Chinese broccoli and various mushroom dishes are also popular. Prices are reasonable but parking is difficult. This restaurant opens for lunch every day except Mondays. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted, but there is no required dress code, and major credit cards are accepted.

HALE Macrobiotic Cuisine

HALE in Hawaiian means "home," in Japanese, "sunny," and in Old English, "health." It is with these different meanings in mind that the owners opened this restaurant in Hawaii in 2009. Before this, Moko and Isamu Kubota had already logged over 20 years of experience with restaurants in Japan and Hawaii. Moko's mother was vegetarian, and this prompted them to offer healthy and tasty vegetarian food with organic ingredients in their Honolulu restaurant. Popular entrees include sweet and sour veggie meat and island fish burger.
