Hire a banjo player for your country themed wedding.
If you want your wedding to stand out, then consider a wedding theme; you can bring Hawaii to you, tie the knot in a country-style ceremony or even turn back time to the 1950s to say "I do." Don't be worried that the extravagant decorations might overshadow your big day; you can always incorporate your theme subtly.
Luau
A luau can make a unique wedding theme, but there is no reason to bring your friends and family to Hawaii. All you need is a backyard with a swimming pool or a beach. Position flaming torches at the entrance to the wedding ceremony and add them to the flower arrangements, which may include orchids, tuberose and lilies. Hang grass skirts around the buffet table, which will hold traditional Hawaiian food such as coconuts, pineapples and even a roast pig. Walk down the aisle to the Hawaiian Wedding Song.
Sea
You could marry on a yacht, on a pier or at a lighthouse, but even if you are tying the knot on dry land, a sea themed wedding is still achievable. Set the tables with sand-colored table cloths and decorate them with fake jewels and shells. Use fish bowls as centerpieces with real or fake fish inside. Serve your guests plenty of seafood, such as shrimp cocktail, oysters and salmon and have them dress according to a blue and white theme.
Arabian
Arabian themes work better in smaller intimate venues with few windows. Attach small white lights to the ceilings and turn the lights off for the ceremony. The guests will feel as if they are staring up at the night sky. Hang silky fabric in front the walls. Red, gold, green or blue will work well. Add a genie-style lamp filled with dry ice to the guest book table to set a magical mood. For entertainment, hire belly dancers to perform for your guests. Bread, roast chicken and fresh fruit should be on the menu.
County
If you are looking for something rustic and charming, try a country wedding. Find a barn, ranch or farm as a venue and use a cart as a gift table. Think simple and original, use farm tools as decorations, hang quilts on the walls and use straw hats filled with daises and sunflowers as centerpieces. Entertain the guests with a live banjo player or line dancing and serve a country-style barbeque.
Other Themes
To create a Japanese-themed wedding opt for a black and red color scheme, decorate the tables with bonsai trees and serve sushi and noodles. Or go Mexican with cactuses as centerpieces, sombreros hanging from the walls and piñatas for entertainment. Food can include enchiladas, guacamole and tacos. Book a venue with a dance floor and go back in time to the fifties. You and your guest can dance the night away to Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers and Doris Day. Make sure burgers and cola are on the menu. The guest can change into black leather jackets for the reception.
