Although many of Honolulu's famous attractions are located outdoors, you can still find plenty to do on rainy days. The city offers an array of attractions that will help you learn about Hawaiian and Pacific history, culture and nature while you stay dry.
Pearl Harbor Museums and Memorials
On December 7, 1941, the Japanese bombed the U.S. base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, sinking the battleship USS Arizona and leading the United States into World War II. Today, Pearl Harbor features several museums and tours of naval vessels that are open to the public and ideal on rainy days.
The U.S. National Park Service operates the USS Arizona Memorial, which commemorates the nearly 1,200 crew members killed in the bombing.

Waikiki Aquarium
The Waikiki Aquarium focuses on aquatic species from the Hawaiian Islands and other parts of the tropical Pacific Ocean. Indoor and outdoor exhibits as of 2010 showcased fragile coral reefs, endangered Hawaiian monk seals and techniques of aquaculture, which is fish farming designed to help conserve popular seafood species. The aquarium houses more than 3,500 animals representing more than 500 species.

Bishop Museum
Honolulu's historic Bishop Museum is the largest museum in the state and features a planetarium as well as numerous exhibits. The original collection consisted of clothing, jewelry, hats and other heirlooms from Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last princess in Hawaii's royal Kamehameha line. Since the museum's founding in 1889, its holdings have grown to more than 24.7 million pieces, with a focus on the cultural history and nature of the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific. Permanent exhibits include Polynesian Hall, which showcases clothing, weapons and instruments; the Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kahili Room, where you can see portraits and possessions of Hawaiian rulers; and the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame.
