A sunset on Maui is just one of the attractions of this Hawaiian island.
Maui is the utopia of the Hawaiian Islands, boasting rain forests, sandy beaches and adventures waiting to happen. In 2009, the "Conde Nast Traveler" Reader's Choice poll named Maui as the best Island in the world for the 15th time. It is no wonder there are so many luxurious resorts and hotels to experience.
Hotel Hana-Maui
Hotel Hana-Maui, awarded two "Travel + Leisure" 2009 World's Best Awards, is a luxurious, tranquil hotel on 66 acres of Maui's eastern coast in the remote town of Hana. The area was isolated from the rest of Maui, accessible only by water, until construction of a gravel road in 1927. Expect a peaceful oasis with no televisions, radios or clocks in the private rooms, though they are available in the Club room. Each room has a private patio, large bathroom and decorations based on textures, patterns, colors and materials native to Hawaii. The resort offers two restaurants, a bar, two pools, two whirlpools, an art gallery, a complimentary spa and a five-minute shuttle ride to an unspoiled, white sand beach. Book activities such as snorkeling, yoga, tennis, hiking, golf and boogie-boarding through the concierge.
