Pool Party Games For Adults

Planned games can make pool parties a lot more exciting.

In the summer months, a pool party can be a great way to cool off, and with no children in tow, parents can let down their guard. Here are a few game ideas to get adults in the pool and socializing with one another. Does this Spark an idea?

Pool Pong

An inflatable beer pong table is exactly what you need to entertain a rowdy band of adults. Blow up the table, which looks like a raft but has a triangular arrangement of holes to hold cups. Fill the cups with drinks and place them in the holes. Once you have selected teams, choose who goes first and hand them a ping-pong ball. Floating pong is more sanitary than regular pong because, if you miss the cups, the ball does not roll around on a dirty floor.

Chicken Fight

Chicken fights with adults can be a lot of fun. The game requires at least two lightweight adults and at least two strong adults. Each of the lightweight adults sits on the shoulders of the strong adults, and the goal is to knock the opposing lightweight player off the shoulders into the water. Some public pools have banned chicken fighting because it can be dangerous, but as long as no one is competitive to the point of scratching or biting, a rousing chicken fight can be a lot of fun.

Toy Toss Game

Although this is a party exclusively for adults, you can put your kids' pool toys to good use by organizing a toy toss game. According to FunAttic.com, the host should divide the pool in half using a rope. Divide the participating attendees into two teams and have one team stand on each side of the rope. Have a timer who is responsible for yelling "Go!" and then yelling "Stop!" after five minutes.

When the person keeping time starts the game, dump two large containers full of floating toys into the pool, one on each side of the rope. Players are expected to throw toys onto the opposite side of the pool. At the end of five minutes, the team with the least number of toys on its side of the rope wins.
