Red Hat Party Ideas

Red Hatters know live life to the fullest, so make sure your next get together with the ladies is original and exciting. After all, what fun is a gathering without a little hattitude? Does this Spark an idea?

Add Some Spice to Lunch

Getting together for lunch at a favorite restaurant is a good way to share stories and laughs while enjoying a tasty meal. But why not spice things up a bit?

Go for a progressive lunch. Define an area, such as a downtown shopping district with many restaurants in walking distance. Then, put the names of several restaurants in a hat; have appetizers at the first restaurant you draw, lunch at the second, and dessert and coffee at the third. Take your time and explore area shops in between restaurants.

Host a mystery lunch or dinner for your fellow red hatters. Decide on a menu and then translate all of your menu items into a different language. For example, if you're serving lasagna, translate all of your menu items into Italian. But here's the twist. Utensils, beverages, and other items also go on the menu. Have three to four courses and have each friend complete an order form. They won't know what they're ordering or when so odds are someone will be trying to eat spaghetti without a fork or will get their salad without salad dressing. Your friends will enjoy the delicious food, but the hilarity of the ordering system will be the highlight of the night.

Fun With Fitness

Physical fitness is key for a long and healthy life. So why not incorporate some physical activity into your next Red Hat get together?

Depending on the size of your group, split into three or four teams. Then give each team a list of items to find. But this scavenger hunt is for photos only, so make sure each team is equipped with a digital camera or a camera phone. Each team should head in their own direction, taking photos of each item on the list as they find it. Items can include things such as a purple flower, a red front door, and a slide. Choose a time to meet back at a home base; the team who snapped photos of the most items wins.

Check with your local historical society and sign up for a walking tour. You'll learn a little about your city's history while enjoying the physical activity and the camaraderie of friends.

Never Ending Parties

The worst part of any party is the end. So why not plan your next get together before the current party ends? There are several ways to have a never ending party. For example, at a card party, the winner or the first person to get the ace of hearts will host the next party. Or, if you're hosting a tea party, the person who sits at the cup of tea with a sticker on the saucer will be the next hostess. It's a fun and creative way to pick who is going to throw your next get together.
