Room Decorating Ideas For Toddler Boys

Moving out of the nursery is a milestone event for a toddler.

Changing your child's nursery into a toddler room is a momentous occasion. Your boy is reaching a milestone in his life that you should commemorate with a big boy bed and a decor that suits his personality. While your toddler may not be able to communicate to you the exact elements he would like to have in his room, his personality should shine through to help you find the decorative touches that will make him smile. Does this Spark an idea?

Sports

Sports are a common theme for a toddler boys bedroom decor. While the toddler probably has not expressed any real interest in a particular sport, you can include elements from a number of different sports in the room. Paint footballs and baseballs on the walls, and feature them on bedding. Real sports equipment may be too hard and dangerous for your toddler to play with, but you can use the images throughout the room.

Transportation

Cartoon airplanes, trains and automobiles are an appropriate choice for boys' bedrooms. Toddlers moving into a big boy bed for the first time can get over the apprehension with a race car bed outfitted with race car sheets and bedding. Giant wall murals can depict all methods of transportation for your toddler's room.

Outer Space

Spaceships and space are another decorating idea for a toddler's room. Giant murals of a spaceship and a rendition of the Milky Way galaxy on the ceiling make the boy's room interesting. Look for spaceship bedding and even a spaceship bed for your toddler to play in when he's in his room. Decorate the room with real images of the moon and space to grow with your child.

Dinosaurs

Cartoon dinosaurs have been a part of toddler rooms for years. Shelves with dinosaur action figures and dinosaur bedding are just one aspect of this boy-themed decor. Consider creating a cave in the room for your prehistoric toddler to spend time playing. Paint a cave door over the door to the room and place stones on the walls to give the appearance of sitting inside a caveman's home.
