Give out ornaments to help others decorate their Christmas trees.
Celebrating the holidays often involves small or large parties where people eat, drink and act merry. If you want to make your Christmas party extra special, provide your guests with party favors. Favor possibilities include food, decorations and crafts or any combination of festive items.
Food
When you think of Christmas, you think of belly-warming, sweet foods like hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and apple cider. Give party favors in the form of food and drinks. Decorate homemade cookies in the shapes of stars, Christmas trees or snowmen. Place candies or cake on a brightly colored plate and wrap it with plastic wrap for safe keeping. Fill a plastic bag with hot cocoa or apple cider mix, and decorate the bag with fun stickers. For a store-bought gift, provide boxes of candy or cookies.
Craft Projects
Give out fun craft projects inspired by the season, such as a blue diary and snowflake stickers so the recipient can create a winter wonderland. Give out sets of cookie or cake mix, frosting and food coloring so that party guests can make and decorate their own cookies or cake. Give out empty plastic ornaments that open so that people can fill the ornaments with ribbon, felt or confetti to create their own ornaments.
Clothing
If you know the size of all of your party guests, purchase Christmas-themed slippers, sweaters, pajamas or t-shirts. Select a sweatshirt with pictures of snowmen, reindeer or Santa. If you know the style your guests like, buy clothing that matches their interests and style. A teen boy may enjoy a shirt with a picture of his favorite video game character, while a middle-aged mother may prefer a comfortable, plush robe.
Candles
In most places in the Northern hemisphere, it is darker during the winter months than during the rest of the year. Help people light their home without electricity by giving out candles. To celebrate the spirit of Christmas, give out red or green candles or choose candles with holiday scents, such as pine or sugar cookie. Give out a votive or candle holder to accompany the candles.
Decorations
Christmas decoration possibilities include tinsel, strings of lights, ornaments, snow globes and figurines. Consider purchasing personalized ornaments that relate to your guests' interests, such as Disney or Star Wars ornaments. Give people snow globes that remind them of winter scenes or of their place of origin, such as a New York City snow globe. Use figurines in the form of angels, snowmen, Jesus, Santa Claus or pine trees.
