Take advantage of the Disney Fast Pass when visiting one of the four theme parks.
When visiting Walt Disney World you want to have the best possible vacation available. Tips from others who have been to the parks before and from Disney itself can be very beneficial in accomplishing a wonderful visit. Even the littlest tip, like using Fast Passes or when to take a break can sometimes mean the difference in enjoying the vacation or not.
Utilize Disney Fast Pass
Using the Disney Fast Pass system can not only save time waiting in line, but can also help out when visiting the theme parks with kids. Fast Passes are passes given out to guests with an hour time frame for the guest to return to the ride. Upon returning you will be able to go through a shorter line to get on the attraction.
Before going to the park for the day, decide which attractions you will want to get a Fast Pass for. Generally, select those with the longer lines, such as Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Rock'n'Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest. It is best to go to the busier rides upon entering the theme park and get your Fast Passes. This will allow you to enjoy the rest of the park until it is your scheduled time to return to the ride. Keep in mind you are only allowed one Fast Pass at a time and it will state on the bottom of the ticket when you can get the next one.
Fast Passes are great for parents traveling with small kids that cannot ride some of the rides. Parents can get the Fast Passes, return to the attraction at the scheduled time and one parent can ride without waiting in line. When done, the next parent can do the same thing.
Take a Break
Find some time during the day to enjoy a break from the theme parks and head back to your hotel or resort. The afternoon is a great time to get out of the hot Florida sun, allow kids to take a nap or cool off in your hotel's pool. Sometimes the theme parks can be overwhelming and a break is always a good way to relax, unwind and not get overly stressed trying to fit everything in.
Disney Dining Plan
One of the best tips out there is to take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan. This is offered to all guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, and guests can select which dining plan will fit their needs and budget. Even the cheapest of dining plans include one table service meal, one quick service meal and one snack per guest, each day of stay. A majority of the time, this is enough food for the day and if not, leaves guests only having to buy one meal during the day.
There is an additional fee for the Disney Dining Plan, but in the long run, when you calculate what you would have spent for food, the plan comes out cheaper. It also eliminates the need to carry money for food while at the theme parks.
Stay on Disney Property
There are so many benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, including complimentary use of Disney transportation and the convenience of being close to all the magic. Other benefits of staying on Disney property include Extra Magic Hours, the Disney Dining Plan and access to the Disney recreation team.
Extra Magic Hours allows Disney guests to get into the theme parks before or after others not staying at Disney are allowed. This makes for fewer crowds and a better chance of getting on some of the rides with long wait times.
Each of the resorts also has its own recreation team, offering children's activities, including arts, crafts and games.
