Palm Tree Room Decor For Kids

A room with a palm tree decor fits perfectly with a home on or near the beach. There are plenty of ideas to tie the room together, other than just throwing a palm tree comforter over the bed and placing a plastic palm tree in the corner. Dress up your child's room so he feels like he's at the beach, even in his own room. Does this Spark an idea?

Walls

Instead of painting the walls a single color, try having a mural painted on the most visible wall, with the other three covered in a complementing color. The mural can depict a grove of many palm trees or a single palm tree on a beach. Pick out pictures with palm trees from magazines or even some of your child's favorite family pictures. Then, hire an artist or ask an artistically inclined family member to paint the mural.

Windows

If the bedroom has a window of two, consider purchasing window treatments with a palm tree print. If those seem too busy, purchase a tan or light-brown window shade with a dark-green valance to make the window resemble a palm tree in color scheme. Hang a string of mini palm tree lights at the top of a window as a night light.

Accessories

Get your child involved by shopping for palm tree knickknacks, anything from a paperweight to lamp shades and throw rugs. Consider purchasing a live indoor palm plant to put in the room. This will not only match the decor but also teach responsibility to water it and keep it alive.
