Party Favor Ideas For Bridal Showers

A favor box all wrapped up

Bridal shower favors are not a necessity, but are a nice little extra for the guests who come out to support the new bride. The gift can be a simple and inexpensive yet thoughtful token of thanks or an extravagant present. No matter what the choice of item is, a bridal shower favor can help to set the tone for the shower and show guests a little appreciation for their contribution to the bride's new life. Does this Spark an idea?

Theme

Try to coordinate your party favors to match the theme of the party if one has been defined. For a garden party, choose seed packets coupled with a small terracotta pot and a peat disk. If you are holding a tea party, try purchasing mismatched tea cups at discount stores or thrift shops. Serve the tea in the cup and then use the cup as the party favor, adding in a satchel of tea if desired. A kitchen-themed wedding gives lots of opportunity for favors. Tiny cheese graters, miniature spoons, whisks, cookie cutters, ice cream scoops or potholders are some favors that are least likely to sit on a shelf and gather dust when your guests take them home.

Personalization

Personalization can sometimes go hand-in-hand with the theme of the shower. Fro example, many wineries offer personalized small bottles of wine that can be given away at a wine and cheese party, while lip balms can be printed with the couple's name for a spa party. Some companies include this service in the cost of the item, so check with individual manufacturers to find out if this is possible for the item of your choice.

General

Some traditional favors can work for any theme or style. Fancy cookies or candies can be packaged individually for a take home treat. Ornaments that can be used on a holiday tree are a yearly reminder of a happy day. A modern favorite is a scratch-off lottery ticket to give all the guests a chance to win big, a favor that can be especially appropriate for a Vegas-style shower. Pens, pencils or notepads with the couple's names on them are another practical idea. Wine bottle stoppers and candle holders are more traditional favorites. For the sports fan, try personalized golf balls or golf tees, baseballs, hockey pucks, or any mini version of a sports ball. For a lighthearted gift, use a personalized can cooler or bottle opener.
