Phoenix Vegan Restaurants

Veganism is not simply vegetarianism. While vegetarians eat no meat, vegans eat no animal products of any kind, including milk, yogurt or cheese. This can make finding a place for a nice meal out on the town difficult. If you are a vegan or wanna-be vegan living in the warm climate of Phoenix, Arizona, or just want to try some tasty vegan food, there are several local restaurants where you can find animal-free dishes.

Loving Hut Phoenix

Loving Hut prides itself on using 100 percent animal-free vegan ingredients. No milk, no eggs, and no MSG. Loving Hut has an Asian-fusion slant, with vegan spring rolls, teriyaki, and sushi, but also offers vegetarian-style American comfort food, like burgers, spaghetti and meat-free nuggets. Loving Hut also has a large selection of fresh juices, desserts, coffees and teas. The restaurant is part of an expanding chain of worldwide vegan restaurants, with locations in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Seattle, with more in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, France and the UK.

Bombay Spice

Bombay Spice is a vegan-friendly Indian restaurant located in north Phoenix. All dishes are prepared without cream, butter or ghee (clarified butter often used for frying). There are some dishes with meat on the menu, but as these use meat as the main components, they are easy for vegetarians to avoid. Bombay Spice also offers a completely vegan menu to customers, to take out any of the guesswork. The vegan menu includes tofu masala, vegetable paratha (thin bread stuffed with potatoes and peas), vegetable salads and soups, curry, vegetable biryani and a non-fat, non-dairy mango sorbet for dessert.

You can get a hummus wrap, made with tomato, cucumber and greens, a Greek salad, a number of hot vegan sandwiches, and vegan pita pizza, bruschetta, and hummus as appetizers. Carly's is also known for its atmosphere, with brightly colored walls adorned with contemporary artwork.
