Prom makeup for blondes
For dramatic prom makeup, blondes can play up their features in a way that is in harmony with their natural coloring. Start with a clean, moisturized face and tweezed eyebrows, and select the right foundation, eye makeup, blush and lipstick. Pastels and muted tones work best for women with blond hair. Choose colors that complement, not change, your coloring. It is a good idea to experiment with different makeup choices before the big night. Does this Spark an idea?
Foundation
Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone, making sure you blend the color beyond your face onto your neck. Use a liquid foundation for a smooth finish that reflects the light, perfect for prom night photos The foundation color should have gold undertones to warm up the skin tone. You may opt to use bronzer sparingly along the temples and cheeks. Make sure you do not create an unnatural line along your jaw.
Lashes and Brows
Natural blondes typically have light lashes that they can accentuate for prom night. Accomplish this with mascara that creates volume. Curling lashes with an eyelash curler can create the illusion of more volume for the lash. For a striking, dramatic look, use tweezers to apply a few medium-length false eyelashes to the outside corner of the eye. Use an eyebrow brush to tame the brows. Use dark chocolate brown eyeliner along the top and bottom rim of the eyelashes. Eyeliner formulations can be a kohl pencil, liquid eyeliner or wet powder. Smudge the eyeliner to avoid a harsh look, using a Q-tip or similar tool.
Eye Shadow
Pick an eye shadow with a soft look for prom night. If you are a blue-eyed blonde, good color choices for eye shadow are dove gray or silver, pale pink or muted lavender. Blondes with green eyes can use eye shadow in a soft red tone such as mauve or plum. For brown-eyed blondes, neutrals work well. After applying color to the lid, use a shimmery ivory eye shadow from the crease of the eyelid to the eyebrow bone to accentuate the eye.
Cheeks
Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks with a good brush. Light rose blush or pale peach, apricot or light coral are a good choice for blondes. To create a tan look without using bronzer, try a blush in an earth tone like a light brown.
Lips
Use a nude lip liner pencil for the outer rim of your lips, and then apply two coats of soft pink, nude or mocha lipstick. Finish the lips with lip gloss for a high shine to complete your prom night look.
