A fun party game can get teens in the mood to have a good time and ease shyness.
Although they are no longer kids, teens love to play games too. Sometimes teens can feel shy around each other at parties, so games can serve as tension relievers and ice breakers to get the party started and melt away the nervousness. Getting teens involved in a funny game can loosen them up and allow them to enjoy themselves at any kind of party. Does this Spark an idea?
Two Truths and a Lie
For this game, go around the room and have each teen tell "two truths and a lie" about themselves. The other guests have to guess which one is the lie. That will open up conversations and allow the teens to get to know each other better. Sometimes the lie is not what you thought it would be.
Who Am I?
A popular game that can lead to hilarity requires that each teen wear the name of a famous person on their back. He has to ask other guests yes and no questions that will allow him to guess which person he is. Everyone goes around asking questions to try and figure out which celebrity they are. Questions can include things like, "Am I a rock star?" or "Am I a female?"
Tell a Story
Pick a theme (e.g., at the mall, at an amusement park, the grocery store, etc.) and have the first person start the story with the letter A. The next person has to add to the story starting her part with the word B. And so on until you go through the alphabet. You have to stick with the theme and go in alphabetical order. To make it interesting, each player only has 10 seconds to come up with her sentence.
Have you Ever?
Each teen is given 10 pieces of candy or coins. Going around the circle, each person should tell something he has never done. Whoever has done it (e.g., gone skiing, driven a stick shift, eaten sushi, etc.) has to give the speaker his candy. After going around the room a couple of times, whoever has the most candy wins, and you've found out some interesting facts about your party guests.
