Spongebob Party Invitation Ideas

Create fun invitations to match a Spongebob party theme.

SpongeBob Squarepants is a popular television character who has a goofy laugh and funny friends, Patrick Star and Squidward Tentacles. The colorful character lends himself well to a birthday party theme. SpongeBob lives underwater, and there are many creative opportunities for invitations you can either buy, print or create yourself with your child's help. Does this Spark an idea?

Using Card Stock

Purchase yellow, pink and turquoise card stock. Using a template or tracing a coloring page, take a pencil and draw out SpongeBob, Squidward and Patrick. Type the party details using a word-processing program on your computer. Print them out and glue them to the card stock. Write a funny line from the TV show that SpongeBob says, and mail them out.

Adding a Favor

Get your guests geared up for a SpongeBob party by adding something special to the invitation. Purchase some plain yellow sponges, or miniature bottles of bubbles. Create tags shaped like starfish or pineapples and write or type out on the computer the party details. Tie in the favor to the invitation with wording such as "Soak up the fun" or "A bubbling good time," and add that to the party details. Hand deliver the invitations.

Computer Cards

Print off free SpongeBob cards using a website. You can print them out in either color or black and white. If you print them in black or white, attach a small package of crayons to each invitation so the child can color it in. Or, you could print off different SpongeBob coloring sheets for the invitation. Fold it in half, and write the party details on the front, or insert the color sheet into a store-bought or printed invitation.

Bottle Invite

Save up some small plastic water bottles. Make sure they are clean and dry. Create the invitation how you like, and roll it up and place it in the bottle. Make it long enough that it is easy to pull out. Hand deliver the invitations. Kids will love reading the message. You could even throw some miniature seashells or Goldfish crackers into the bottle to make it more authentic.
