Spongebob Birthday Invitation Ideas

Use a yellow sponge to make the invitations.

SpongeBob birthday parties are a festive way for your child to celebrate his birthday with his favorite cartoon, and making invitations is an important part. Have your child help you and write the information. This way the invites are a collaborative effort and he can take pride in them, too. Does this Spark an idea?

Print Invites

If you are good with computers, use a program like Microsoft Publisher to create your own invitation design. Use a picture of SpongeBob or do something creative like making the background look like a yellow sponge pattern. Write the party info on the card. Use the SpongeBob logo somewhere if you do not use a picture of him.

Simple Sponge

Glue a yellow sponge onto a piece of white or blue card stock. Hot glue it so that it does not come off. You can either print the party info on the inside before gluing it, or hand write it after. Glue cutouts of SpongeBob and his friends on the inside of the card.

Complex Sponge

If you really want to get crafty with your card, follow the same process as above, but cut out parts that make up SpongeBob, such as his eyes, smile, clothes, and shoes. This will take more time and a bit of ingenuity, but it will create a 3-D Spongebob that kids will love. If you do this, consider pinning the sponge, rather than gluing it, and tell the invitees that they must bring the SpongeBob doll in order to get into the party.

Using the yellow sponge, cut a slit halfway down the sponge and in the middle. Print out your invites on bookmark-sized paper. Then slip the bookmark into the slit you cut into the yellow sponge.
