Celebrate summer with a birthday party that doesn't include kids.
Summer is the perfect time for a party just for grownups. Hire a sitter and enjoy the company of other adults for a summer bash you won't forget. Being outside in the sun is an ideal environment for a birthday celebration; so grab some sunscreen and head outdoors for a fun-filled party with your friends and family. Does this Spark an idea?
Clambake
Summer is the perfect time for a clambake. Grab some crawfish, clams and ears of corn to cook on an outside grill. Decorate tables with red and white checkered tablecloths and use nautical inspired elements like seashells, boats and rope in the party decorations. Serve ice cold beer out of coolers and have plenty of napkins on hand. Serve a birthday cake shaped like a seashell or decorated with anchors to tie in the ocean theme.
Summer Fiesta
A fiesta is a good way to celebrate summer and a birthday. Set the mood with Latin music and serve chips and dips, nachos, fajitas and margaritas or mojitos. Let guests make their own tacos at a taco bar. Decorate with the theme in mind; bright colors, streamers and lanterns will all add to the fiesta atmosphere. Use colorful paper garlands purchased at a party store for an inexpensive decoration. After opening gifts, let party guests playfully hit a pinata filled with fun gifts or candy.
Backyard Barbecue
Fire up the grill for a barbecue party. Serve ribs, chicken, hamburgers, and skewers. Roast veggies on the grill and have lots of finger foods such as chips and dip and pickles, and serve easy-to-eat birthday cupcakes and homemade ice cream. If you have a pool, hold your party poolside. Serve cold beer and sodas or iced tea. Old fashioned backyard games such as croquet, badminton and horseshoes can provide interesting entertainment.
