Sweet Sixteen Party Location Ideas
When choosing a location for a Sweet 16 birthday party, there are traditional options and ones that allow a little more creativity. Hosting a Sweet 16 party at a country club is one of the traditional options, while other choices, such as going out of town to the beach or renting out a movie theatre for several hours, are on the more creative side. The Beach
There are several different types of beaches where you could have a Sweet 16 birthday party, from small local ones to larger tourist destination locations. At a local beach, you could arrange to have it catered, or looking into bring your own grill and cooking the meal there. The beach location will allow guests to enjoy activities such as swimming, volleyball, sun tanning and other outdoor activities. If you choose to go out of town, rent a few rooms for the guests at a hotel at the beach as part of your daughter's birthday present. Have an organized party while at the beach location, but then give the Sweet 16 birthday girl and her friends time to explore the beach and boardwalk areas on their own as well.
Restaurant
Choose your teenager's favorite restaurant to host her Sweet 16 birthday and inquire about a private room rental. If a private room isn't available, ask for a large table in a secluded area of the restaurant. You can either have a prix fixe menu which includes a selection of three to five of the regular entrees on the menu for a fixed price, or have the guests order off the regular menu.
Spa
If your daughter enjoys having her nails and hair prepared by a professional, arrange for a special day for herself and a few of her friends at a local spa. Arrange with the spa for a specified list of treatments for each of the guests. Another option would be to present each guest with a gift card with the same amount of money on it to use during the party and allow them to pay extra if they wish to have more expensive services. After the day at the spa, prepare a meal at home for your daughter and her friends.
Country Club
Hosting a Sweet 16 party at a country club offers a lot of options for a party theme. One example could be a Las Vegas Night where each guest is given play money as they enter the party. Arrange for various casino games to be offered at tables throughout the country club. While the teenagers play the games, either set up a buffet or offer waiter and waitress service where finger foods and other appetizer-themed foods are served. Offer several prizes at the end of the night for the guests with the three highest totals of play money.
Movie Theatre
If your child's 16th birthday falls around the time of the release of a much anticipated movie or two, host the party at a movie theatre. Rent out one of the rooms in the theatre and ask the theatre to show one or two movies for your daughter's party as a private group. For food, ask the theatre if they have a catering option. If they don't, offer light snacks from the snack bar during the movie and take the guests at the party to a restaurant afterwards.
