Paris' Latin Quarter stands along the edge of the 5th and 6th arrondissements on the Left Bank.
The Latin Quarter of Paris is tucked in between the 5th and 6th arrondissements on the artistic Left Bank. The name stems from the formal Latin spoken by students of the Sorbonne during the 18th and 19th centuries on a pedestal facing Boulevard Saint-Michel which runs from the Seine, past the quarter and due south. Today the Latin Quarter is the oldest part of the city with the youngest crowd thanks to its Roman past and its University.
The Seven Hotel
Notre Dame Cathedral dominates the river Seine near Place St. Michel.
The four-star Seven Hotel Paris is thoroughly modern and somewhat playful, with James Bond illustrations where they fit and ultra-minimalist luxury throughout. A stay in the hotel is designed to be an experience with non-traditional decor and highly stylized furnishings. The hotel features a wine cellar, Bar & Lounge, Concierge service and laptops for loan. The rooms are perhaps the most unique feature, as each has a self-proclaimed "levitating bed" which rises at your command. Other touches include Wi-Fi, Nespresso, Mini-bar, iPod connection, air-conditioning, SAT TV and four Olfactory television channels delivering soothing saromas at your whim.
