The Royal Hawaiian Resort is a Starwood luxury hotel located on Kalakaua Avenue, in the Waikiki area of the city of Honolulu on Hawaii's island of Oahu. Constructed in 1927, The Royal Hawaiian has 529 guest rooms, two pools, a full-service salon and spa and its own beach area. Guests at The Royal Hawaiian have three daily options for dining as well as a weekly luau that serves dinner.
Azure
The Royal Hawaiian's fine-dining restaurant, the Azure Restaurant, opened in April 2009. Zagat calls the restaurant "one of Waikiki's most romantic destinations" due to its beachfront views and candlelit dining room. The restaurant specializes in fresh Hawaiian seafood like onaga and opakapaka. The chef purchases the fish personally each morning and then offers both a five- and eight-course dinner nightly incorporating the day's fresh catch. A standard a la carte menu is also available with dishes like the shellfish risotto and the whole moi fish with tofu salad. Featuring more than 100 selections, the wine list is a past winner of the "Wine Spectator" magazine "Award of Excellence" and consists primarily of Californian vintages.
Azure Restaurant serves dinner nightly. Reservations are highly recommended. For a romantic evening, ask to sit in one of the restaurant's open-air beach cabanas, which provide views of the Pacific and Diamond Head. Time your visit to dine at sunset for extra ambiance. Business casual attire is appropriate.
