The most populous city in Idaho as well as the state capital, Boise is the primary government, economic, cultural, and transportation center for the area. While many think of potatoes when they think of Idaho, Boise is also home to one of the largest communities of Basques outside northern Spain. A series of interconnected parks line the city, which also has venues for river floating, hiking, skiing, biking, and more. Boise is also the home of several resorts.
Twin Springs Resort
Hot tubs, rental cabins, and steam sauna facilities at Twin Springs are heated by the natural thermal springs that run through the central Idaho mountains. This spring is one of the three in the state that are sulphur free, meaning they do not have any extra odor or taste. It is only a short drive up the Boise River where the you can relax in the hot springs or engage in outdoor activities such as fishing, gold panning, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Twin Springs Resort also has a system of full-time, petroleum-free power, which one of the founders designed himself. Wildlife such as wild turkeys, deer, and fish abounds within the property of Twin Springs.
