Correction tape makes it easy to fix mistakes when typing.
Because the Smith Corona PWP 55 typewriter prints each letter on the page as you type it, nothing is more important when you make a mistake than the correction tape. Correction tape, which acts much like white-out, can correct your errors easily. Correction tape is installed into the Smith Corona PWP 55 typewriter with the adhesive side of the tape facing the paper area or the platen. Although the Smith Corona PWP 55 typewriter is a discontinued model, it uses the same hardware and replacement process as the Smith Corona 100 model. Replacing the correction tape in the Smith Corona PWP 55 takes only a few minutes.
Instructions
1. Center the print carrier along the typewriter platen.
2. Remove the typing ribbon cassette by lifting upward on it.
3. Lift the two spools of the correction tape outward to remove the old spools.
4. Slide the empty spool on the new correction tape spools onto the left pin. The tape should wind clockwise.
5. Route the tape through the left and right guides. The tape's tacky side should face the platen.
6. Slide the full spool onto the right pin. The tape should unwind counterclockwise.
7. Turn the left spool manually until you feel some resistance.
8. Push the typing ribbon cassette back into place.
9. Set the correction tape by pushing the "code" key then the "=" key.
