Divi Little Bay Beach Resort offers beachfront vacations between St. Maarten's Little Bay and Great Bay. Located on the southern side of the island, this resort provides opportunities for water sports activities, shopping at the Divi's promenade and on-site dining. The resort is also less than 15 minutes from one of the largest cities on the island, Philipsburg. Princess Julianna International Airport, the primary mode of transportation on and off St. Maarten, is 20 minutes from the resort. The island is both French and Dutch. The French northern half is called St. Martin, while the Dutch southern half is St. Maarten.
Accommodations
The premier rooms at the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort are the Casita one-bedroom suites. These rooms offer views of the resort's outdoor pool and manicured gardens, and also have iPod docking stations and queen-size sleeper sofas in the living room areas.
All suites have granite-furnished kitchenettes and private balconies. Some suites feature whirlpool tubs. The interior d cor of each room and suite includes ceramic tiling and beach-themed artwork. The resort offers inclusive packages that include meals with room rates.
Recreation Activities
Due to its beachfront location, the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort provides a variety of water sports activities. Its water sports center offers scuba diving and snorkeling lessons, and diving and snorkeling equipment are also available to rent. Divi Little Bay also has rentals for waverunner Jet Skis and kayaks, and provides Jet Ski tours.
A tour on Little Bay or Great Bay via the resort's glass bottom boat is available for guests who prefer a more leisurely water activity. Non-water facilities include a tennis court, fitness room and day spa named Indulgence by the Sea. The spa offers massages and body treatments. Divi's beach is private for the resort's guests.
Dining Options
Divi Little Bay Beach Resort offers casual dining at Toucan's Cafe, a beachfront restaurant with a festive atmosphere and views of Little Bay. During the evening hours, Toucan's provides a romantic ambiance with candlelight dinners. This restaurant serves seafood cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For breakfast and lunch eats, the Bayview has a sidewalk cafe atmosphere located in the resort's promenade shopping center. Poolside meals are available at the Seabreeze Restaurant, which has seating under a canopy and a full-service bar area.
St. Maarten Attractions
The nearby city of Philipsburg is home to the St. Maarten Museum, an institute with historic artifacts and artwork dating back to the island's Dutch colonial period in the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum also has a gift shop.
Loterie Farm is a 25-minute drive from the resort and it facilitates recreation activities, such as hiking, canopy tours and wildlife observation. This park offers on-site dining at Hidden Forest Cafe, an open-air restaurant that serves local cuisine. Divi is a 20-minute drive from the 18-hole Mullet Bay Golf Course in the Lowlands area of St. Maarten.
